Reduction Lino Printing evening class
1st April to 8th May - 7pm to 9:30pm - Tuesday evenings

During the 6 sessions of the course we will start by looking at artist's lino prints and doing a sample print to experiment with marks and cutting techniques. You will make a lino print using a single colour and then move on to using one piece of lino to print 2 colours (reduction printing). You will be given guidance to plan your print and over the 6 sessions make a variety of different colour editions.

The course will cover registration of your print on the paper; using colour layers and printing your relief prints without a press. You will be working to a maximum size of A4 with 40 sheets of paper supplied as part of the materials charge. If you would like to work on larger size plates, please contact Christine to discuss.

This is a great course to introduce you to using the relief presses at the GPC and there is lots of opportunity for experiment. The course is suitable for beginners and has a maximum of 4 people. costs £130 for 6 sessions or £110 for GPC members materials charge of £10

Mono printing and Drypoint daytime classes
13th May to 17th June - 2pm to 4:30pm - Tuesday afternoons
24th June to 29th July - 2pm to 4:30pm - Tuesday afternoons

Create many multi-coloured and multi-layered prints working intuitively with the ink surface. During the 6 session course you will learn about a variety of mono-printing techniques where you can experiment with textural material and layers of ink. You will create dry point and collagraph plates to add to your mono-prints.

The course will cover chine colle, viscosity inking and how to combined several plates on the same print. You will be supplied with a variety of A4 size paper and plates are included in the materials charge. To work on a larger size piece please contact Christine to discus costs. You will come away with lots of unique and beautiful prints.

This is a great course for beginners and printmakers who want to experiment. The course has a maximum of 4 people. Please wear old clothes or bring an apron.

Screen printing weekend course
12th & 13th April - 10am to 4pm

This course will guide you through making several different types of screen print. Its suitable for beginners and those wanting to expand their knowledge. There will be plenty of hands-on printing with time to experiment.

You will make cut paper stencils and photo stencils made from hand drawn images or collaged photo images. You will learn to use the screen beds, registration techniques, how to mix colours using water based inks, and layering of colours.

On the first morning we will make cut and torn paper stencils. This is quiet a free way to work with the aim of getting everyone used to the process and producing prints. We will then look at your own drawn or photo material that can be used to make photo stencils. If you have any drawn material or photographs you would like to use as stencils
please bring B & W photo copies or lazer jet prints on thin white paper, maximum size A4.

This course is a good introduction to the GPC screen printing studio. We have a maximum class size of 4 people.
Remember to wear old clothes and bring a packed lunch.

Photo Etching weekend course
17th and 18th May - 10am to 4pm

Make an etched steel plate using photo generated material. Add to your images using traditional etching techniques. Learn how to expose and etch your plate, experiment with inking and colour layers. suitable for all levels.

Screen Printing evening classes
10th June to 15th July - 7pm to 9:30pm
23rd sept to 28th October - 7pm to 9:30pm
